Keanu Reeves is spending thousands of dollars each month to remove fake profiles impersonating him, as romance scams become more common due to AI and deep fake technology.
Reeves is one of the most impersonated celebrities online, partly due to his lack of social media presence and respectful public image. He pays a monthly fee to Loti, an AI security firm that protects celebrities and corporate brands from online threats. Loti detects and reports fake accounts on platforms like TikTok and Meta for removal.
Reeves has initiated nearly 40,000 account takedowns on his behalf over the last year, and the problem extends to his professional circle, with imposters targeting his publicist and others connected to him.
