Whitney Purvis from "16 and Pregnant," was arrested for involuntary manslaughter

Whitney Purvis, a former MTV star, has been arrested in Floyd County, Georgia, on charges of involuntary manslaughter following a fatal overdose. Purvis is accused of distributing Tranq, a dangerous combination of fentanyl and xylazine, which led to John Mark Harris' February overdose death.

Purvis left an emotional message on Harris' online obituary page, expressing her deep sadness over missing his funeral and reminiscing about their close friendship. Purvis is charged with involuntary manslaughter and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.

The arrest comes shortly after Purvis' 16-year-old son, Weston Jr., died of natural causes in June. Purvis has previously been arrested on lesser charges, such as shoplifting a pregnancy test, damaging electronics, and failing to pay child support.

She has not yet responded to the latest charges through her representatives.
