FaZe Lacy responds after facing backlash for using an AI-generated image to promote his stream with Tyreek Hill

FaZe Lacy, a Twitch star, has faced criticism for posting an AI-generated image of himself with NFL wide receiver Tyreek Hill to promote an upcoming stream. 

The image, shared on June 14, 2025, sparked criticism on social media for failing to support human artists, despite Lacy's high-profile status and income. Many fans on X criticized Lacy for prioritizing cost-cutting over artistic integrity. Lacy responded to the controversy by claiming that AI created the poster in less than 30 seconds and was free, arguing that he didn't have to pay someone $150 and wait for a day and a half.

 He admitted that the method was lazy but justified it by the short notice he had for the Tyreek Hill collaboration. This incident comes after Lacy announced he is now multistreaming on Kick and Twitch for an additional $100,000 per month.
