Anne Burrell, the celebrity chef and longtime host of Worst Cooks in America, died at 55


Anne Burrell, a renowned celebrity chef and host of Worst Cooks in America, passed away at the age of 55. Born in 1969, she was inspired by her mother and Julia Child and studied at the Culinary Institute of America and the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. 

She worked at Felidia and Savoy restaurants before becoming a teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell gained national prominence as the sous chef on Iron Chef America and hosted several Food Network shows, including the Emmy-nominated Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. 

Her most recent appearance was on House of Knives in 2025. She also published two cookbooks, including a New York Times bestseller, Cook Like a Rock Star. 

Burrell supported organizations like the Garden of Dreams Foundation and City Harvest.
